Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if I don't pass? Can I retake the exam?

Yes! If you happen to fail, we go over the test so you know what you need to work on. After some additional practice time, the first retake of the test is free of charge.

How long is the Advanced Foundation Course?

The Course is 4 hours, presented over a webinar by ZURB Foundation's Creators and Experts.

How long is the certification test?

We provide two hours to take the 50 question exam. The test us all multiple choice and will challenge your general knowledge on these topics.

What if I’ve already taken the Advanced Foundation Course, but still need to be certified through the test?

Reach out to us! We can offer an al-a-carte solution so you aren’t paying or required to go through the Advanced Foundation Course twice. It should be noted that as new versions of Foundation are released, our Advanced Foundation Course is updated...so if it’s been awhile since you took the course, we might recommend the value of the new course.

What kind of questions are covered in the exam?

The exam will challenge your Knowledge of Foundation, responsive design, and coding. The multiple choice questions will test your strength on specifics of the codebase, like available Foundation classes or its features and usage. These are things a person would know if they use Foundation for their projects.

It's all online and "open book" so you can use any resource to answer questions.

I’m outside of the United States. Can I still become certified?

Yes! Since the test is online, you can take it from anywhere in the world. ZURB is on Pacific Standard Time and we can work with you to ensure you can take the test at a time that works best for you and takes your timezone into consideration. The test is currently only offered in English.

If the Advanced Course time does not work for your timezone, reach out to us to see if there’s a way to be included in another course time.
