Orbit since version 5.0.0

I depend on the fade transition in Orbit.

Here is a very simple fade animation that works fine in all tested browsers (FF, Chrome, Safari on OSX, and FF, Chrome, and IE11 on Win7) in 5.0.0 - 4 second timer with 3 second fade:
http://orbit-transition.fullsetup.com/500.htm

However the same code in 5.2.1 ignores the animation speed and stays at default 500ms, and the fade "flashes" (fades out, "snaps" in) with OSX or Win7 Firefox (same speed issue in other browsers, but no flash in other browsers):
http://orbit-transition.fullsetup.com/521.htm

The same code does not seem to work at all -- initial slide never changes -- in 5.2.2 (using the "full download"), again on any of the browsers, PC or Mac:
http://orbit-transition.fullsetup.com/522.htm

or using "custom download" with all options selected:
http://orbit-transition.fullsetup.com/522c.htm

These are all using unmodified fresh downloads from the Foundation website

Except for pulling different copies of the CSS and JS for the different versons of Foundation, the code is the same for all.

Any suggestions for getting this working again on more recent versions of Foundation?

Hi Bill,
We have an open GitHub issue for this we are looking at for 5.3. We hope to have it resolved before then. If anyone has a slick solution we'd love to see it. https://github.com/zurb/foundation/issues/4938

Why don't you release a new version of foundation only when a (I mean) important component like orbit is working?

Alexander Assimidis over 5 years ago

The Orbit Slider is just an example u should write it to ur own so it will work better. Just see it as an Template but i'm going to push a request with further options in the next days.

Any guess when 5.3 will be out, with a fixed Orbit?

+1 on wondering when 5.3 will be released, and if the big problems with Orbit will be fixed. With version 5.2.2, Orbit doesn't even start for me...
