npm install failure

I'm trying to install the latest version of foundation-sites. I am on Win 10 64bit.

This is the command window:

C:\wamp64\www>npm -v
5.6.0

C:\wamp64\www>npm install foundation-sites
npm WARN saveError ENOENT: no such file or directory, open 'C:\wamp64\www\package.json'
npm WARN enoent ENOENT: no such file or directory, open 'C:\wamp64\www\package.json'
npm WARN www No description

I am in the directory in which I build my projects. Should I be in a different directory?

Hi, did you run "npm init" before this? Also these are just warnings.

It is recommended to run "npm init -y" and then "npm i foundation-sites --save" or "npm install foundation-sites --save" to save the dependency to the package.json file.

Thanks Daniel. I never had to run those commands in F-5 through F6.3. Seemed to get a good install, but now I get this:

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.16299.309]
(c) 2017 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.

c:\wamp64\www>npm install foundation-sites -s
+ [email protected]
updated 1 package in 22.719s

c:\wamp64\www>foundation new
'foundation' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.

c:\wamp64\www>
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Again, I never had this problem before.

I've tried rebooting to refresh the PATH. No joy.

Hi Tom,

the "foundation new" command is from the globally installed foundation-cli. This is not the same as foundation-sites.

foundation-cli installs the Foundation templates based on your decisions. which use foundation-sites.
See https://github.com/zurb/foundation-cli and https://foundation.zurb.com/sites/docs/installation.html#install-with-foundation-cli

Thank you Daniel for your help. I had to go into my node-modules and delete the package before it worked, but now I'm good to go.
