Using Markdown with Foundation for Emails/Inky

I'm just getting started with foundation for Emails/Inky, and the SASS workflow seems really great.

I'd like to write my emails in markdown where possible, rather than explicitly creating <p>, <a>, and <img> tags, which I find harder to read and maintain. I'm wondering if anyone has added markdown parsing to their email workflow. It seems like it would be pretty straightforward - -simply pass the html template through a markdown processor before handing it over to Inky -- but I am not very familiar with node and I don't know how to add pieces to the processing pipeline.

Thanks for your help!
