PageSpeed Insights

A colleague suggested that I run my website through Google's PageSpeed Insight optimizer.  I ran my site through the optimizer and my site scored a 40.  I then ran many sites through the optimzer including foundation.zurb.com and it scored 64!

Given that so few websites score a passing grade on Google's optimzer, how much credibility should I give Google's optimizer?  Can some one suggest a more credible optimizer?

Thank you,

The highest I've got is 68, usually my sites end up being around 60

Is there such a thing as a perfect score?  I have yet to encounter a website that scores about 80%.

even some of googles own sites are in the 60's like developers.google.com.

Its still handy for highlighting areas that can be improved, but i personally wouldn't jeopardise user experience in pursuit of a higher score :)

In some sense, page speed insight is just a number, not more. But when I learnt more information about it, I definitely say that it makes sense, but just not overrate it.

For example, if your website score is 20 - work harder on it, optimize and do at least 60-70. Due to my experience, I optimized pages to get 99 on the desktop. It worked, but the maintenance is difficult. All styles are inline, javascript code also - but, yes, pages are load quickly. There's should be gold rule. Find it for your website too.

Averagely, 2-3 secs is okay for a website.

Sorry Klaudia actually if a page take 2-3 secs it's terrible !
By using WP under 1-2 sec it's ok
But if you don't use any CMS and make it all by hand it's from 0.5 to 1sec.

This site was build with Zurb and WP look at the score and loading time :

40  is really not a good score. It should be more than 80 to make it SEO friendly. If you want to improve your keyword rankings in Google, then obvioulsy you should see ststs given Google. Why to go for some other optimizer tool.

The Page Speed demonstrated the most critical effect on diminishing page stacking times, payload size, and number of solicitations when contrasted with GetHomeWorkOnline.com different alternatives in the business.
