I have a site built using Foundation and Siteleaf. The structure is hopefully solid but it seems a little slow to load, with the top bar not coming in straight-away, I imagine this is because I have the Javascript at the bottom of the page but is there anyway to resolve this and make the loading smoother

Slow loading websites can have many causes. Make sure you only load the parts of Foundation that you actually use, don't waste bandwidth for nothing. Every byte counts when it comes to page speed. Also noticed your server is running nginx, which is a real workhorse, you should have no problems with speed.

There are a few things in particular that I noticed when quickly analysing your website though:

  • CSS and JS files are not minimised
  • Images can be optimised better for better site performance
  • Gzip compression is not enabled, why?
  • When I reload the page, it seems like there's no cache system active?

I also tested your site with GTMetrix (any score below 90% is unacceptable imho), your score: https://gtmetrix.com/reports/bristolcomedygarden.co.uk/wntObvKU

Thanks for the reply, I'll go through those points and see if I can minimise it.

Thanks for the info Kenth, I've revised a couple of bits on the site, point 1 and 3 but if you cache does it mean that if I load new content it will still be caches?
