Stable Branch and Foundation-cli differ

I've have just installed and have started working with Foundation for Apps. I keep running into big problems and I can't tell if it is me or it the version I've downloaded is incorrect.

I used the `npm install -g foundation-cli bower gulp` to install my app. I have been writing along and then I noticed that all of the tutorials are different from what I have. I also checked the stable branch on GitHub and it is vastly different as well.

I compared the gruntfile.js since that is where most of my problems stemmed from and the stable branch is about twice as long.

Should I have the stable branch? Is the foundation-cli up to date?

The CLI will always provide the latest tagged release on GitHub. The Master branch is a testing branch used before releases. You can update to the master branch if you need to in the Bower.json file.

You should be able to change the version number to master then run 'bower update'

The first file you linked to is the Gulpfile for the framework itself, not the starter project the CLI downloads. You can find that file here.

Where are you seeing differences between tutorials and how the framework works?

Joshua Smith about 4 years ago

Oh, wow. I didn't realize that there is a template version.

The tutorials I am looking at is the Tuts+ Up and Running with Foundation for Apps.

specifically in lesson 2.2

I can't access the tutorial since I haven't paid for it; is it telling you to clone the entire framework versus using the CLI?

Joshua Smith about 4 years ago

No, the tutorial uses the CLI and I did too.

I think my problem comes from the fact that I didn't realize that there is a foundation for Apps template. I was comparing my gulpfile to stable on the actual framework.

Ah okay, well if you run into any other issues let us know!
