jQuery and IE8 - Almost?

We all know that one of the reasons Foundation 5 isn't IE8-friendly is because it runs jQuery 2 which does not support IE8. However, I have been testing Foundation 5 with jQuery 1.7.x and have had good results, as seen here:
http://mcfaddengavender.net/dev/zanes-tuc/

However, for some reason, the jQuery items still have issues in IE8 (use the same demo link as above) even though I am using jQuery 1.7.

Does anyone have any idea on why this would be happening? I can't wrap my head around why it would work in Chrome/Firefox but not IE8.

Bump above the spam.

Getting closer but the issue remains.

The website displays fine using jQuery 1.7.x except for in IE. Any ideas on why jQuery would act different in older versions of IE?

To answer my own question, IE8 doesn't support "data" elements - I needed to place a SRC fallback for iE8.

Hi Jeremy,

I'm facing this issue right now. I'm using jQuery 1.11 along with various polyfills and advice from this article (http://foundation.zurb.com/forum/posts/241-foundation-5-and-ie8). So far I am having excellent results with IE8, but just can't seem to get Orbit to work.

Any advice on how to get the Foundation JS components working in IE8? What did you mean by src fallback? If IE8 doesn't support data elements, is there another way to initialize an Orbit slider?

Brian, have you tried Slick slider? Orbit is being deprecated.
