Magento CE Theme

Dear Webdesigner

For my Magento CE webstore, I’m currently using a theme that’s based on Zurb Foundation:
http://addonbakery.com/magento-themes/magento-polarcore-theme

The theme is very basic. While I like its simplicity, it’s too bare. I’d love to keep the simplicity and freshness of it, yet at the same time it’d be great to make it look like a finished, professional theme with some identity to it.

I don’t know if it’s better to build on top of the Polarcore theme or to start from scratch; I’m not attached to the theme but thought it might make a great starting point (the theme is actually marketed as a framework).
I know that the Polarcore guys have done some great professional work with this theme. It’s solid, flawless and adheres to Magento’s programming standards (much more so than so many of the other themes available out there).

My budget is $5-10K.

Let me know if you'd like to work on this project or if you can recommend me a web designer who'd like to take on this project.

Thank you! Best regards.

Hi Patrick,

I would use the theme as a starting point as it looks like it's purpose but use the Developer one with Sass also to make it more easily extensible.

Hope this helps

Hi Patrick,

I know this was a while ago, and hopefully you've found a solution. If not please feel free to contact me, I work for a Magento Agency specialising in responsive development built around Foundation, and we've custom built and launched a lot of sites using Foundation.

If you've already gone ahead with another company or individual, we've found some tips for working with foundation and Magento that might help you.

Maintain a clean Foundation SASS and JS library so it is easy to update.
Use Foundations setting file, and extend the app.scss to include your own components and page CSS.
Try and utilise foundation frameworks where possible, avoid including extra JS libraries if they're not really needed.
Extent end Magento to out JS at the bottom when you need it and use Magento to compress and minify the JS and CSS files instead of your SASS compiler. Two pass compression never works out in the long run.

Happy theming.
