So I have a potential contract for building a wordpress site and I want to do redesign using foundation 5 and I had a couple questions.

Before I ask my first question, I want to point out that I currently only have experience working with static html pages and using grunt and assemble for my build process and as blog/email generator. With that in mind, I haven't been able to figure out how to start a local wordpress project... Does anyone know any resources/tips to help me get started in that process?

Other then the above question and more importantly, I was wondering wondering if there are any great wordpress themes out there for wordpress that you could recommend?

Also, what problems if any could I expect to run into? I asked because I've read on some potential issues with interchange or other minor stuff.

Hi Hans,

For a local WordPress environment I would recommend either DesktopServer (http://serverpress.com/products/desktopserver/) or Varying Vagrant Vagrants (http://tangrufus.com/start-wordpress-development-varying-vagrant-vagrants/). VVV is more command line intensive, so if I were you I'd download a trial version of DesktopServer first and try that out. It's pretty easy to set up.

If you want a starter theme to work off of, I'd recommend _s (http://underscores.me/).

If you want a starter theme that uses Foundation, I'd recommend either FoundationPress (http://foundationpress.olefredrik.com/) or my own Hybrid Foundation (https://github.com/dsutoyo/hybrid-foundation)
