Has anyone here implemented disqus on foundation website, if so, did it play well?

Hi Robin,

yes - easy embed and no conflicts the only thing it does do is slow it down as it is an external source, so needs thought if you are mobile first

Hope this helps

As Steve said it works well. I use Disqus on many sites I have built and use their Universal Code and it works very well. I have never seen an issue on any of my Foundation sites.

I haven't seen much in the way of slow downs when using Disqus though I have the script as one of the last scripts to load.

Sorry to note, I was having a play with a flat file cms so speed was a major test even 100ms etc

Disqus works like a dream in Foundation. I have a website using it here:

It does add a slight overhead on load time because it needs to load external JS resources. However, considering the hosted commenting, its still pretty fast. I load it only "on-demand" on my website, if the current ajax page is flagged to have disqus comments.

It seems to be giving me some trouble. Does anyone have a suggestion for how to implement Disqus when using offcanvas navigation. I suppose the iframe will only load once, where the div#disqus_thread element is. But when I use offcanvas navigation, I have to put my center content in both a nav.show-for-small section and a div.hide-for-small.

Am I doing it wrong. It seems like Karl has done it right on his site.

I am not sure why you have "center content" inside both nav.show-for-small and div.hide-for-small ... Dont you just have a content area? Isnt disqus to be loaded for all screen sizes?

I think I did it this way because I use a different navigation for large and small (normal top bar for large, and off canvas for small).
