I think I might have found a solution. In you app.scss file, change the order of the imports to:

@import "foundation/settings";
@import "foundation";

Make also sure that all paths are correct.

You can now choose the ranges as wanted.

As currently not using grunt, I edited the config.rb file as mentioned above. I did not change the output_style, however uncommented line_comments to false as stated below:

To disable debugging comments that display the original location of your selectors. Uncomment:

line_comments = false
