  • UNCSS with Zurb email stack?

    By Arlan

    uncss

I have some custom classes set up but sometime they are not used, is there we can prevent ZURB/Gulp/Panini from adding them to  the <style> tag in --production build, like ZURB does with Foundation for sites 6 with UNCSS.

What worked for me

Using Terminal (inside project directory)
“bower install foundation-sites”
select option, (for option 2 type “2”)
possible will have to update bower (“sudo nom i -g bower”)

————————————————————————————————————————
CHECK CURRENT VERSION

bower_components > foundation-sites > .bower.json ("version": "6.2.4")
bower_components > foundation-sites > js > foundation.core.js (var FOUNDATION_VERSION = '6.2.4')

bower_components > foundation-sites > dist > js > foundation.js ( var FOUNDATION_VERSION = '6.2.4')
bower_components > foundation-sites > dist > css > foundation.css (/** Version 6.2.4 */)

after updating Version should be 6.3.0

It helped me to specify image size inside img tag e.g. width="600" height="600"
this size might not be real image size but at least proportional to real size,
for example in large screen image takes large-6 or around 260px (there is 20px padding on each side and email width is 600px)
but in mobile same image is 400px full width, original image dimension 400x300,
same image for large screen 260x195

small-12 large-6
<img width="260" height="195">

use this to calculate the large screen for large-6
http://scriptygoddess.com/resources/proportioncalc.htm

this is just one example for one type of image use

I'm having real trouble getting emails to display properly in either Outlook 2016 or iOS mail using the Zurb stack. In outlook images are pushing the container wider that specified and mail in iOS displays sections overlapping and uses the desktop layout... (continued)
