Like what Glenn says, it's just .foundation('open') without the reveal.

Adjust the border-color of each. I think this is all of them but if there is one missing in your design then inspect the anchor element and look at the css rules for ::after.
.dropdown.menu > li.is-dropdown-submenu-parent {
> a::after {
border-color: #fff transparent transparent;
}
&.opens-left > a::after {
border-color: transparent #fff transparent transparent;
}
&.opens-right > a::after {
border-color: transparent transparent transparent #fff;
}
}

I decided to try come up with a working example of this. Turns out, if the images are broken, Equalizer does not work until you resize the browser window.Here, the images do load and Equalizer does work: http://codepen.io/anon/pen/bpZvLq
Here, the images do NOT load and Equalizer does not work: http://codepen.io/anon/pen/dMrmdx
It seems that even reInit doesn't work for the second one either so maybe the best idea is to have non-broken images.

My only guess is that Equalizer isn't initialized initially so you cannot reInit a plugin that hasn't been initialized in the first place. This explains why the second works but the first doesn't.
Do you have your HTML correct as per the documentation? Perhaps you can share with us some of the HTML?

 You shouldn't need .menu-icon.dark, I've modified my previous comments but the CSS is only missing the light version of .menu-icon rather than the dark. Glad you sorted it.

That shouldn't matter because if that was the case, surely the 2nd column would still be the tallest and as a result, the other columns will be equal to its height (like it is after he resizes)?

This has already been reported numerous times. There is some CSS styling that is missing from the custom and complete downloads of Foundation.
Refer to this thread Thread, and this GitHub Issue for the CSS missing from the latest release (6.2.1).

This issue was posted on Github and referenced in this issue (thread?): https://github.com/zurb/foundation-sites/issues/7033
It should be fixed soon. In the referenced issue, the CSS that is missing is supplied so you can add that to your CSS.

That URL is just a blank page. Does the hambuger menu icon show up on other devices (including computers if you resized the browser to small)?

Have you tried looking in the documentation? Is Example what you are after?
