Find the path by running the foundation install with the -V flag.

gem install foundation -V

You'll get something like this:

 Installing gem foundation-1.0.4
/usr/local/lib/ruby/gems/2.0.0/gems/foundation-1.0.4/.gitignore
/usr/local/lib/ruby/gems/2.0.0/gems/foundation-1.0.4/Gemfile
/usr/local/lib/ruby/gems/2.0.0/gems/foundation-1.0.4/LICENSE.txt
/usr/local/lib/ruby/gems/2.0.0/gems/foundation-1.0.4/README.md
/usr/local/lib/ruby/gems/2.0.0/gems/foundation-1.0.4/Rakefile
/usr/local/lib/ruby/gems/2.0.0/gems/foundation-1.0.4/bin/foundation
/usr/local/lib/ruby/gems/2.0.0/gems/foundation-1.0.4/foundation-cli.gemspec
/usr/local/lib/ruby/gems/2.0.0/gems/foundation-1.0.4/lib/foundation/cli.rb
/usr/local/lib/ruby/gems/2.0.0/gems/foundation-1.0.4/lib/foundation/cli/generator.rb
/usr/local/lib/ruby/gems/2.0.0/gems/foundation-1.0.4/lib/foundation/cli/version.rb
/usr/local/lib/ruby/gems/2.0.0/gems/foundation-1.0.4/test/Gemfile
/usr/local/Cellar/ruby/2.0.0-p247/bin/foundation
Successfully installed foundation-1.0.4

Note the last line, /usr/local/Cellar/ruby/2.0.0-p247/bin/foundation. Yours may vary slightly.

Open your .bash_profile file:

sudo nano ~/.bash_profile

Add the following, using the path from the last line you had from above, without the /foundation

export PATH=$PATH:/usr/local/Cellar/ruby/2.0.0-p247/bin

Restart Terminal. Now you should be able to create your new project with "foundation new NEWPROJECT"
